Design Manager - Hospitality Industry

The Role

The role as Design Manager is to manage, in support to project managers, all the essential stages which ensure the achievement of brand objectives concerning the Design:

  • Select and promote designers for the region
  • Set up "Design Briefs” per project
  • Support the project managers for the follow-up of the project (interior design & architecture)
  • Prepare program committees (internal design reviews) and validate that final design reaches the Brand design ambition
  • Act as project manager on the projects of renovation of public area and hotels rebranding

Main Responsibilities

I – Ensuring the proper development of hotel projects in accordance with brands specifications, for building transformation/renovation and new constructions of hotels

  • To assist the Construction Director during development stage by putting together feasibility studies and preliminary hotel program
  • To assist Project Managers and all the people involved during hotel design development
  • To act in a contributive manner to pilot with countries new built or renovation projects in accordance with brand models (products, costs ...) 
  • To verify compliance of projects with regards to programming, functionalities and area optimization

II - Anticipating the proper implementation and proper development of the projects, informing and helping project representatives:

  • To communicate with Projects Managers and teams in charge of the project, with all necessary documents for project design (regarding to brand image, Design, services and products)
  • To explain fundamentals, ratios and expected hotel functionalities and features
  • To ensure information flow as and when new product development arises
  • To adapt the “corporate” design briefs to be adapted according to specific needs such as local adaptation and / or regulation
  • To take into account all costs constraints

III – Supporting the Project Managers on the design follow-up important steps:

  • To analyze, orientate, and actively participate by making suggestions and validate architectural and / or Interior Design
  • To validate projects for them to be presented to Projects and / or Program Committees
  • To visit, valid and / or update the mock-up rooms and issue the reports resulting from these reviews
  • To assist local teams to adapt the furniture and to monitor new providers
  • To validate and propose for modifications in regards to decorative and organization options and in regards to Brand variant in coordination with Marketing Department

 

The Candidate

  • Higher Education in Architecture, Interior Design
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture as an Interior Design Project manager
  • Experience in Hotel Industry
  • Fluent Russian and English is a must, knowledge of French would be a plus
  • Strong artistic skills, creative mindset
  • Knowledge of architecture tools + CAD
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change
  • Proven organizational and communication skills
  • Positive thinking and open-minded mindset
  • Team player, networker
  • Prepared for 30% business trips
